Sometimes what seems like a disadvantage can turn into a surprising opportunity! Find out why recent restrictions to beach access at one of Dubai’s most sought after 5-star hotels is creating a great reason to book a stay this Summer!

Five star beach-front hotels in Dubai, like Fairmont The Palm, are some of the most sought after destinations in the Middle East. Whether people are stopping over for a few days, spending a couple of weeks or as local residents just looking for a weekend “staycation”.

The man-made Palm Jumeirah has become synonymous with some of the city’s most luxurious hotels, with direct access onto safe, clean beaches. Recently however, construction of a new boardwalk around the palm has meant that most hotels have had access to their beaches significantly restricted. This is bad news…………except for you!

Wait, what? Why would restricted access to one of the key highlights of a hotel be good news?

Having lived in Dubai many years, I can tell you from experience – even when you think “it can’t ever be too hot to go to the beach”………it can! Beaches in Dubai in Summer will test the resolve of even the toughest beach goer. Rather, shaded poolside cabanas, family friendly pools and lush gardens are a much better option.

Fairmont The Palm is one of the few properties in Dubai that is busy 12 months of the year, owing to its impeccable standards and facilities beyond those found in the outdoor heat. Here comes the good news! Recognizing the disruption that the reduced beach access might have on guests, Fairmont The Palm is looking to offer significantly reduced room rates through Summer. So whether you’re a first time visitor to Dubai or you’ve been living in the city for years, this presents a unique opportunity to enjoy this incredible hotel at a fraction of the cost!

In addition to 10 dining facilities, a gold standard fitness centre and luxury wellness spa, the rooms at Fairmont The Palm are without doubt amongst the most comfortable in the city. The only disadvantage of their signature beds is that you might not want to get up in the mornings – so don’t!

For those who do still want to feel the sand between their toes, it is only a short walk down to the beach - whilst you might not be able to always see it, it is still there! Towards sunset, when the temperatures finally start to dip, it is still a relaxing place for a swim and watch the lights come on in the Dubai Marina.

For the Instagrammers, the property has some iconic spots for photos – from balconies looking back at Dubai Marina, the poolside palm trees and of course some of the signature restaurants and bars – Blowfish and Little Miss India are definitely ones to have the camera for!

The property is perfect for families, with a kids play centre, water splash area and supervised children’s pool. Young travellers can check in all by themselves and receive a special backpack of goodies, including a voucher for the region’s largest mother and children shopping platform, Mumzwolrd.com

So, whilst the reduced beach access is causing headaches for property managers, it is providing a discounted summer getaway opportunity at one of Dubai’s top hotels. Jump online to check out the upcoming rates and book your stay at Fairmont The Palm.
